War Machines

War Machines are an integral part of your army. Mainly because they make fighting much easier. If you have the means, try to get all of them. You can also purchase war machines at war machine factories on the Adventure Map.

Provides all friendly ranged units with unlimited ammunition.
These are essential if you use ranged units at all. While the chances are low that you'll run into ammo problems, you'd be surprised how quickly Marksmen and Grand Elves eat through ammo. Medusas find them useful too. They're good for keeping your archers in the back lines, where they belong.

Targets enemy units randomly unless the user has the Artillery skill. Cannot be used in defending sieges.
I'm not big on Ballistas, but they're good if you want the extra damage. The Artillery skill I tend to pass, but makes the Ballista MUCH better.

Only attacks siege walls and arrow towers randomly unless user has the Ballistics skill. Can only be used when sieging a city.
Essential for sieges. 'Nuff said. Your hero always has one, but losing it will a pain in the ass (and frikkin HARD to do.)

Weiila sez: Get one or you’ll be tearing your hair out when you try to assault a castle. You CAN take it without a catapult (and/or Cyclops) but it’ll be much harder.

Regenerates 1-25 damage to the top creature in a random unit once per round. Can be controlled with the First Aid skill, and raises effectiveness of the Tent.
Meh. Useful only on powerful units really, and only if you have the First Aid skill. I don't bother unless I have money to spare.
