The password, which you can enter without actually visiting any of the lithographs (but then you won't have trod down the evil!) is "Perseus."

Katsu remarks that it's odd the builders of this ancient Japanese castle used a password from Western mythology. Well, yes, that is odd. In the Japanese game, the password instead referred to the spirit of the North Star in Shingon Buddhism, Myouken Bodhisattva. But that was strange too, because Buddhism is also a foreign import in Japan, and Sumaru Castle is a Shinto (native Japanese) shrine. All traditions flow together in the collective unconscious!
