Walkthrough (part 1)
|
After the intro, talk to the king. Open the chest to get a Copper Sword and 50 gold. Make sure to equip both the Copper Sword and Leather Armor (you start with the armor). Go outside the castle. Fight slimes until you reach level two. Heal at the inn when you need to. When your reach level two, wander a bit farther away to face some tougher enemies, like Giant Slugs and Army Ants. When you have 90 gold, buy and equip a Leather Shield. Once you reach level three, you're ready to wander off to the northwest to reach the town of Ririza. You might want to take a Medical Herb along for the journey, just to be safe. |
Enter the town of Ririza. You can find a Lottery Ticket in a drawer on the second floor of a house, even though you can't use it yet. Speak to the girl standing in the item shop and choose to deposit it in the Vault. Talk to people, stay at the inn, and then strike out to the north to reach Sulmultria. Talk to the king. He'll tell you his son went off to the Spring of Bravery. Before you yourself head there, you'll want to gain a few levels and upgrade your equipment. Fight around the castle, then move north when you're stronger. Watch out for the Babbles, because they can poison you. You'll want to be around level seven, be equipped with a Chain Whip and Chain Mail (in addition to the Leather Shield), and have a full stock of Medical Herbs, along with an Antidote Herb or two. Once you've made those preparations, head to the northeast and enter the cave to seek out the Spring of Bravery. |

Head to the back of the cave and talk to the old guy near the spring. He'll tell you the Prince of Sulmultria was only just recently at the spring, and suggest you head to Laurasia to try and find him. Exit the cave and head down to the castle where you first started out. Talk to the king, your father. He too will tell you that you just missed the prince. Leave Laurasia, and then head to the town of Ririza. Talk to the prince in the inn to have him join your party. You'll want to have him gain a few levels, so spend some time fighting Babbles around Sulmultria. Equip him with a Chain Whip, Chain Mail, and a Leather Shield, too. Once you've leveled him up a few levels (say level three or four), it's time to move on. |
Stock up on Medical and Antidote Herbs, and buy a Wing of the Chimera, too. Strike out east from Sulmultria, cross a bridge, and keep going until you come to the entrance for the Lake Cave. Enter. The cave is larger than the Spring of Bravery, but it should present no problem. The only enemies of concern are the King Cobras (they can poison you) and the Magicians (who cast Firebal). In any case, pick up whatever treasures you want on the way to the bottom room of the second floor, wherein lies the Silver Key. Pick that up and leave the cave. Use the Wing of the Chimera to fly back to Sulmultria (if that was the last place you saved) if you are low on the health or just don't want to walk. Stay at the inn to regain your health, then head out again. |

East and a bit south of Sulmultria lies a shrine. Enter it and go down the stairs. Follow the passage south and around until you emerge back onto the world map, on the other side of a body of water. Walk all the way south until you reach the town of Muinpeta. You'll want to buy a Steel Sword, Steel Armor, and a Steel Shield for the Prince of Laurasia, and an Iron Spear for the Prince of Sulmultria. Get the money for this (and a bunch of levels!) by fighting Lizard Flies and Mandrills to the east across the bridge. When you've made those preparations, heal up and cross the bridge to the south. Keep going until you sight a small poisonous marsh (it's a purple patch of land a bit to the east). On the way you might run into some tougher enemies, so don't be afraid to use the Prince of Sulmultria's magic liberally. Search around in the swamp until you uncover the Mirror of Ra, then head back to Muinpeta. |
There's a dog walking around town. Walk up to it, go into the menu and use the Mirror of Ra. The mirror shatters, and the dog changes into the Princess of Moonbrook. Level her up some in the same area you were before. She can't really equip much of anything, so you're stuck with getting her a Sacred Knife for now...unless you want to use that Lottery Ticket to try and win a Wizard's Staff on the Lotter (three moons). It's a pain in the butt to get, but it's a great help, as using it as an item in battle casts the Firebal spell on an enemy of your choice. When you're satisfied, head to the far north on the right side of the mountains, cross the bridge to the west, and then head all the way to the south. When you reach a sandy area, move west a bit and enter the tower you find. |
