Trance

Status Ailments

Status ailments can alter a character's (or enemy's) status. They are inflicted by spells, special attacks, or even some items. Most effects are generally negative, but there are a few beneficial ones.

The following pair of tables lists and describes the beneficial and the negetive status ailments.

Remember, in trance mode, all status ailments are nullified, with the exception of Petrify, Zombie and Virus. Also remember that only Eiko can cast Dispel.



BENEFICIAL STATUS AILMENT

Float
Target hovers in the air, immune to Earth-related damage
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Full Life
Target is revived from KO, HP is restored to maximum
Dispel/After healing
Haste
Targets ATB bar fills faster
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Protect
Target recieves less damage from physical attacks
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Reflect
Target reflects most magic cast on it, back to the caster (Both beneficial and negative spells)
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Regen
Target's HP are gradually restored
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Shell
Target recieves less damage from magic attacks
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Vanish
Target is rendered invisible, protecting it from physical attacks
Dispel/magic attacks/Will end after a set amount of time
NEGATIVE STATUS AILMENT
DESCRIPTION

Berserk
Target cannot be controlled, automatically attacks every turn
Gysahl Greens/Will end after a set amount of time
Confuse
Target cannot be controlled, randomly attacks opponents and allies alike
Esuna/Physical attack/Will end after a set amount of time
Darkness
Targets attack accuracy is decreased
Esuna/Eye drops/Remedy
Doom
Target is disabled and afflicted with KO when the timer reaches zero
Ending the current battle
Freeze
Target cannot be controlled, any phsical attack will instantly KO the target
Esuna/Fire-related magic/Will end after a set amount of time
Gradual Petrify
Target is afflicted with the Petrify status once the timer reaches zero
Stona/Esuna
Heat
Target is KO'ed is it acts
Esuna/Ice-related magic/Will end after a set amount of time
KO
Target is disabled until revived
Life/Full life/Phoenix down/Phoenix pinion
Petrify
Target turns to stone and cannot act
Stona/Remedy/Soft
Poison
Target continuously loses HP
Antidote/Esuna/Remedy/Will end after a set amount of time
Mini
Targets shrinks, attack and defence are heavily reduced
Mini/Esuna/Remedy/Will end after a set amount of time
Silence
Target cannot cast magic
Esuna/Echo screen/Remedy
Sleep
Target falls asleep and cannot act, 150% damage is inflicted if the target is attacked
Esuna/Physical attacks/Will end after a set amount of time
Slow
Targets ATM bar fills slower
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Stop
Target cannot act
Dispel/Will end after a set amount of time
Trouble
Target's allies recieve half the damage taken by the target
Vaccine
Venom
Target is poisoned and cannot be controlled
Antidote/Remedy
Virus
Target recieves no EXP and no AP after battle
Vaccine
Zombie
Target recieves opposite effects to recovery items and spells
Magic tag
