Evaluation:
For a fair amount of the game, you don't have much say in Hawel's competency as a Mage. His statistics are low and his spells, which he'll only ever learn 3 of, make him a limited character. However, being a Mage, he can attack from a great distance with powerful spells and can cause serious damage to otherwise difficult enemies.
WIZD (Wizard)
Evaluation:
Hawel's not much better as a Wizard; in fact, the only thing that makes him a worthwhile character is his mastery of the Blaze and Freeze spells. It would have been nice for him to have learned a fourth spell, perhaps something that could have added more diversity to his character, but considering he can cast two of the most powerful spells in the game once he's reached a high enough level compensates for that.
