| Kokichi is a very useful party member from the beginning to the end of the game. He has excellent mobility and is not restricted by terrain, can (although barely) take a hit or two, and can deal some decent damage with his attacks. |

| After promotion, Kokichi can use some better equipment and has better statistics, enabling him to be even more useful than he was before. Definitely use him at least in battles in which you can't move through the rough terrain well. |
