Quest for the Galba Shield
Keep in mind that this is entirely optional, and also difficult. If you don't want to put in the effort, skip ahead to Grana-Vallis. If you want to continue, it's time to level up. Let's not go crazy, as you don't have access to easy levelling just yet. It wouldn't hurt, however, if you want to get your Livart up to level 5, though. You should be able to collect the emel neccesary by running through the Canaan plains (east of Port Rimorge) a few times. Watch out for Bholdom (pictured) until your sword's about level 4, though, as they can be pretty tough.
After levelling up, make sure you're stocked on healing items. You probably got plenty of Titonuts and Kameo Flowers from the enemies you killed. When you're ready, head west from the first room of the Canaan Plains into the area pictured. Eliminate the monsters here and head north into the Limewater Cave.
The first thing you'll notice about the Limewater Cave is that it's dark. Hopefully, the second thing you'll notice is this Spirit Monument. I can't emphasize enough that it is time to save your game.
Oh God, oh God, oh God. The enemies here are far too strong for you. Unless you're drastically over-levelled, you won't even be able to damage these monsters. What's more, they can do over 100 HP damage in one hit. Stay healed up, avoid getting hit, and sprint for the treasures that I'm going to guide you toward.
Here's your directions: from the save room head north four times. Then go east and then curve north again. Run to the east and then east again. Immediately curve to the east into what I call the M&M room (due to the multiple colored Dollops, or slime monsters). From here, head north and obtain the Galba Shield.
Immediately equip your new shield and head south back into the M&M room, then west. Instead of going back to the north, head southwest to get to the Galba Armor.
Do not equip your new armor! The Galba armor automatically poisons its wearer, so don't put it on until you can afford the Silver Armlet from Rose's shop. Of course, that armlet costs 20,000, so it may be a little while. Just remember to save money until you get it. Now, it's time to escape. Remember that the enemies here do massive amounts of damage, so avoid them at all costs. In case you forgot the way out, it is (from the Galba Armor) east, north-northwest, west, south, west, and then south four times. If you get lost, you can use this crudely drawn map that I've made. Once back at the Spirit Monument, save your game and leave this God-forsaken place. You should be pretty well equipped for where we're going.

continue on to Grana-Vallis mountain
