Vase Shop: You don't get the option of which vase to buy: you'll randomly receive any of them. About 90% of the time you'll only get Mystic Vases, which are useless and can only be sold to the other guy standing in the Vase Shop (talk about opportunism). However he pays only 50% the full price of any item, instead of 75% like stores.
Even with such chances it's still a good deal to keep buying vases: if you spend 2000 buying 10 vases, chances are at least one of them will be a good one, and you will be able to sell it for around 10000 (5 times what you spent).
