Welcome to Spielburg!

You've built up your skills as much as you can, you've graduated from the Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School, and you've found the ad requesting a Hero for Spielburg.  All that work, and only one measly puzzle point for it (1).

Upon entering the town, you'll be greeted by the Sheriff.  Listen to what he has to say, and then ask him for more detail about something he mentioned (ask about _____) (1).  When you're finished chatting with him, head north and listen to his warning about the Dragon's Breath.

On this screen, you'll find Hilde's produce stand.  Ask about her goods, or anything else that might interest her (1).  While you're here, buy apples from her--you'll need a total of 50 of them (3).  Hopefully you have the strength to carry them.

When you've finished with Hilde, head to the Dry Goods Store.  You'll have to get Kaspar's attention somehow, and what better (and more friendly) way than to say hi?  He'll put his book down and you can ask about something (1).  No need to buy anything, though (but you can pick up two Flasks while you're here to save some time and money), so just head back out and then go west.

The butchershop, the bakery, and the bar.  The three B's of town living (you passed the fourth, the barbershop, on your way north from the Sheriff's office.  Between the butchershop and the bar, you'll see a narrow alley.  Head into that to meet Sam.  He won't talk to you unless you contribute to his cause, so give silver (1) and then ask about whatever you wish (1).  He'll only talk to you for a little while before demanding more money, and you can keep giving him silver or just leave.  You might need your money later, so I'd recommend saving it.

The bar is a rather seedy place, and you can visit it if you want, but there's really no need to just yet.  VGA users will find a note laying on the floor inside and get a couple points for it, but since EGA users cannot get it until later, I won't be including it in the point list just yet.

Did you notice that there was a path to the west from the Sheriff's office?  Head back around and go that way.  You can ignore the Hero's Tale Inn for now--it's only midday and you don't need to rest yet.  You'll find yourself in front of the Magic Shop, being stared at by its eye.  Head on into the Magic Shop.

As you approach the counter, Zara will appear and introduce herself.  Ask about something (1).  Magic-Users will want to buy Fetch (M2)--you should have just enough money for the scroll (unless you gave it all to Sam).  When you're done here, head back out and into the Guild Hall to the west.

Walk on over to the desk and read book to check out what people have done here before you showed up (4).  You can also sign the book (1) to make a record of your visit.  Then go to the bulletin board and read quests to see what people need a Hero to do (6).  The guild master is asleep, but you can wake the man and then ask about whatever you wish (1).

And that's all we'll do in Spielburg for now.  We'll come back to the Inn tonight, but for now just go back to the front gate and head on out into the forest (1).  Let the adventuring commence!
