Geddoe Chapter 3
Geddoe's third chapter opens with you walking through Brass Castle. Continue walking until you see Percival. Aila will almost lose control here for her anger toward the Zexens. Other than this, there is nothing important going on, so go on to Zexen Forest.
You may face some tough enemies here, but you should be okay.
Your first stop is the Inn. Check in for the night, and there will be a few scenes. The first involves Ace, Joker, and Jacques. The second involves Geddoe and a contact he has that directs him toward North Cavern. The third involves Queen, Aila, and Borus. The next morning, head to North Cavern to meet the rendezvous Geddoe was speaking about, but make sure Geddoe has good equipment first.
This is another straightforward area, and the monsters you run into hopefully won't give you too much trouble. You'll also go down two spiral sections. At the second spiral area, the team realizes they're being followed by none other than Duke, Elaine, Gau, and Nicholas. Watch the dialogue between them, and then Geddoe will duel against Duke, his long time rival. Duel: Geddoe vs. Duke Duke is no slouch at dueling, but as long as you can avoid his deathblows, you should be fine. See the duels section to see when he attacks, defends, and uses deathblows.
After defeating Duke, the rest of the Fourteenth Unit retreats, allowing you to progress. Go through to the end of North Cavern and wait. After a few moments, the rendezvous will show up: Salome and Louis. Salome will uncover some strange information about the conflict between Zexen and Grassland, and also reveal something no one knew about the assassination of Chief Zepon. Then, Salome instructs you to go and help Budehuc Castle resist Zexen control, and departs with Louis. You probably know where to go next.
Nothing going on here, just head on through.
When Geddoe's team enters the castle, they'll see Thomas, who is refusing to give up the castle land to Percival and Leo. Eventually, the two knights depart to inform the council of Thomas' decision. Now, you're free to explore the castle. Visit the library to learn a bit about Geddoe's history. Later on, Queen suggests that the group finds a place to stay inconspicuously for the night. That night, Joker finds Geddoe staring out the window. When Joker asks what's going on, Geddoe reveals something that thickens the plot further.
In the morning, the fighting starts. Geddoe and the group watch several Zexen knights run into the castle. Your group then leaps out and cuts off the next group that tries to run in. Because of your high level, the knights should be nothing by now, and you should have no problems with them. Head into the castle to see Thomas and his group exhausted from a fight with the knights. The Twelfth Unit runs to intercept, and you'll need to fight another group of knights, who are just as easy. After this, your mission is over. Watch the cutscenes, and then Geddoe will unveil something else to the group, and he decides to go see the Flame Champion. The Flame Champion's hideout now opens on the map. There's nothing to do on the way, so go straight there.
The Flame Champion's Hideaway is a mazework of cavern tunnels. If this is your first time inside the Flame Champion Hideaway, there are plenty of treasure chests to be found; and some tough enemies, too. At the far end of the Flame Champion Hideaway, there is a tough mini boss called Nemesis, which gives you plenty of loot and some good items as well. If you want to proceed directly with the story, go left at the first fork, and go left again to the dead end. Geddoe, who seems to know what he is doing, steps onto the mysterious platform and is teleported deeper into the Flame Champion Hideaway, leaving his comrades behind.
Geddoe is teleported to a long hallway lit with torches and lined with massive pillars. There's nothing to be found; go through the two hallways to the great door at the end. Open the door to end Geddoe's chapter 3, and to see a familiar face as well... |
