Chapter 3 Walkthrough
Ambition of the Devil Group
Battle 12: Grans |
|
Party:
Monsters:
Spoils: 1) Protect Ring, 2) Healing Seed
|
Fortunately for players trying to level their party members to the maximum extent before promotion, this battle is not terribly difficult. Your party should move as a single unit, destroying the two Dark Snipers just behind the trees as quickly as possible before proceeding forward to the rest of the enemies. Most of the enemies can be defeated similarly in clusters, but be careful of those that appear out of the fog placed in various locations on the map as well as the Witch who can devastate a group of party members with a single attack. Also, don't let the battle end without picking up the Protect Ring in the treasure chest; it can be used as a valuable tool from this point and onward to defend characters with a lower defense or to gain experience. After the battle, Morton the Master Monk joins the force. |
Battle 13: Galam outskirts |
|
Party:
Monsters:
Spoils: 1) Healing Seed, 2) Mobility Ring, 3) Healing Seed
|
For the unexpecting player, this battle can become extremely difficult extremely quickly. When you reach the area near the center of the map, a slew of tentacles appear simultaneously and you are forced to fight them in addition to any of the enemies that you're already fighting at this point in the battle. To win the battle, simply fight slowly and surround a small group of enemies at the same time to avoid taking as much damage as possible. If desired, replace any character with Morton to have additional healing power, but it's really not necessary if you use proper strategy. Don't finish the battle until defeating the Bow Rider (using a character with an empty slot) in order to obtain the Mobility Ring. |
Battle 14: Eiku's Fortress |
|
Party:
Monsters:
Spoils: 1) Valkyrie, 2) Healing Seed, 3) Healing Seed
|
This battle can be particularly frustrating when trying to defeat all of the enemies and obtain the additional items due to the narrow path your party must take in order to finish the battle. While on this path, your weaker memebers and stronger members alike can be targetted by the Bow Riders and very quickly defeated. To solve this problem, send your characters up the left and right sides of the fort to defeat these enemies in melee combat before proceeding; you should be able to do so in only a round or two on each side. This strategy takes a while, but ultimately is necessary to win the battle without excessive healing. When finished, proceed up either the left or right path and take out the awaiting group of enemies quickly; to do so, you'll have to position your party members according to their ability to attack. Place a melee fighter in front, then someone who can attack from a space away, then Sonette (preferrably) to attack from three spaces away. You can also use Minto, Hawel, or your flying party members to surround these enemies without inhibition. When finished, finally proceed onward towards the Master Mage. |
Battle 15: ??? |
|
Party:
Monsters:
Spoils: 1) Heat Axe, 2) Healing Seed, 3) Healing Seed
|
Most of the enemies in this battle have a generally limited movement and a limited range from which they can attack your party members, making this battle easy in comparison to the last one. Before the battle is over, however, open the treasure chest on the right side using a flying character to obtain the Heat Axe. Ultimately, you can win by defeating Eiku, and to defeat Eiku you simply have to surround him and pummel him; he can cast Freeze 3, however, so don't bunch too many characters too closely without any healing items. |
Battle 16: ??? |
|
Party:
Monsters:
Spoils:
|
While at first it seems intimidating, this battle is extremely easy. Furthermore, if you haven't promoted yet, now would be the perfect time to do so using the surfacing Sandworms to obtain the most experience points in the least amount of time. By the same token, however, don't group too closely around them or you will face a wide-ranged Sandstorm attack that can devastate your party members with additional enemy attacks. Aside from the Sandworms, the enemies are spread out and in few numbers, so concentrate on a small group at a time until you've gotten to the opposite side of the dessert and can take down Mishaela. A flying character should be used at least once during this battle to obtain the treasure chest that no other character could, and bringing healers along to counteract the many magical enemies is also advisable. Before finishing the battle, search the cactus circled on the map above to find Sasuke the Ninja. |
