Chris Chapter 1

Location
Vinay del Zexay

You start out in front of Chris' mansion in Vinay del Zexay. Explore the town if you want (but don't buy anything yet), and then go to the Zexen Council Building. The Zexen council members inform Chris that she is to be part of the peace negotiation with Grassland, and that Chris is to proceed to Brass Castle to prepare for the peace conference. You will be joined by Louis, Salome, Roland, and Borus. The Zexen Council Building also has a market which has much better supplies, and the Education and Training Centers are in here as well. Chris has plenty of cash, so upgrade her weapon and train her at the Bujitsu teacher. Go to the entrance of Vinay del Zexay when you're ready to leave. Percival and Leo, the two other knights of the Renowed Six Zexen Knights, bid you farewell.

Zexen Forest

Due to Chris, Borus, Salome, and Roland being level 20, the fights in Zexen Forest will give you little or no experience and skill points, so proceed on.

Brass Castle

Upon entering the castle itself, you'll run into Hugo and his friends. After that, Chris gets a chance to explore Brass Castle a bit. Head to the right gate to trigger a scene with Dupa, a Lizard Clan fighter. When you're ready, go to Chris' room, which is on the second floor of Brass Castle and the room on the end.

Plain Amur

The next day, you'll find yourself at Plain Amur, where the peace treaty is to take place. Chris, Borus, Salome, and Roland will meet with Lucia, Beecham, Sana, Dupa, and a few other members of the Six Clans. Watch the dialogue between them. Afterwards, just as Chris, Salome, and Borus are discussing the negotiations, Chris learns that the Lizard Clan has suddenly attacked the Zexens! At this point, your first strategetic battle commences.


Strategic Battle: Plain Amur
Victory Conditions: Stay alive for 1 turn and escape to Karaya Clan Village
Defeat Conditions: Chris' Unit is defeated

Right off the start, you'll be outnumbered by the Lizard Clan. A turn later, Karayans join the battle against you, unwilling to watch their allies fight alone. You can't win here, so take the time to familiarize yourself with the system, as this is your first strategetic battle. After a turn passes, Salome suggests that the Zexens pass through Karaya Clan Village and burn it to force the Karayans to pull back. When the escape route opens up, send all of your units, Chris in front, through it to "win" the strategetic battle.

Destroyed Karaya Clan Village

When Chris enters Karaya Clan Village, it's already burning; the other Zexen Knights have been thorough. Borus will separate from Chris at this point. Chris discovers her father's armor lying outside of a burning hut, and another run in with Hugo triggers a turning point. Now, Borus, Salome, and Roland rejoin Chris. Salome informs Chris that Karayan reinforcements are coming, so they have to fall back. You'll battle two groups of Karayans before you reach the end of the village; and you'll see a shocking sight, as well.

Brass Castle

You'll find Chris in her room, guilty over the Karayan women and children that were slaughtered by the other knights in the raid. When you regain control of Chris, go to the set of double doors to find Salome. He tells Chris that the Zexen Council wants to see her again. Head to the castle exit leading to Zexen Forest, and you'll run into Percival and Leo. After the conversation, meet up with Borus. Now, you're on your way back to Vinay del Zexay.

The enemies here have gotten harder, so be careful. You'll also run into Fred and Rico. After the dialogue, continue to the Zexen capital.

If Borus and the others don't have upgraded weapons or skills, upgrade them now. When you're done, head to the conference room in the Zexen Council Building. You'll quickly learn that even when dealing with Chris, the Zexen Council members are jerks. Right away, they assign Chris a new mission: Attack Great Hollow, the home of the Lizard Clan. Chris is extremely reluctant to do so, and only goes because of orders from the council members. After the conversation is done, say goodbye to Borus, and head to Chris' mansion. After a talk with Chris' butler, the chapter ends.
