Geddoe Chapter 2
First, pick up Ace and Aila at the Inn first. You don't need to, but it makes the next scene funnier. Head up the stairs between the Trading Post and the Rune Sage to trigger an event. Then, go back to the Inn and meet up with the rest of the group. After watching the Harmonian army leave, go back to the Inn. The group decides on going to Le Buque. Before leaving Caleria, make sure your weapons are sharpened, your armor is good, you have plenty of items, and you've trained your skills.
When you get to the area where you fought the Twin Snake, you'll notice that it has been replaced with another monster. You can avoid this one by hugging the wall to the pathway leading to Le Buque, but this monster give you great experience and another valuable treausre chest, so you should battle it. Boss Battle: Rock Golem The Rock Golem is slow, but it has heavy armor and packs a lot of physical power. When it charges up its fist for a special attack, it can hit up to four party members if they're surrounding the golem. Use Aila's Clay Guardian immediately when the battle starts. Also use Geddoe's most powerful spells on the Lightning Rune, but avoid using Joker's Fire Rune. When your entire party's health is dipping low, have Aila cast Great Blessing on the group, and heal with medicine as well. Eventually, you'll win the fight, as well as rights to a second treasure chest.
After taking the spoils from the fight, head down the north path and go through the straightforward area there to get to Le Buque. Minor Boss Battle: Franz, Ruby, two Mantor Legionnaires, two Mantors As soon as you enter Le Buque, you're attacked by Franz and two other Mantor trainers. Take out Franz and the trainers first, and use Joker's Fire Rune to hit the entire group of enemies at once. Once the trainers are down, you'll have little trouble dispatching the mantors.
As soon as you win, the Masked Bishop, accompanied by two Harmonian soldiers, enters the scene and breaks up the fight. Geddoe informs the Masked Bishop that his group is part of the Southern Frontier Defense Force, and under orders to search for the True Runes. Realizing that Geddoe's team is working for Harmonia, the Bishop grants you passage into the village. When you're let into town, you'll see Franz arguing with some other locals. Explore the unique town, and to trigger a cutscene, go near the Trading Post. Aila will recognize Sarah (the mysterious woman from Karaya) and chase after her as she leaves. Follow her to overhear part of a conversation between Sarah and the Masked Bishop. You may also notice Edge standing by the Rune Sage (see the 108 stars). Go to the northern part of town and eavesdrop on Franz and Iku. Follow Iku inside, and Queen and Aila will listen to what she has to stay. If you want, you can also stay, but otherwise, you'll listen in on more dialogue between the Masked Bishop and Sarah. Afterwards, go back into the building if you didn't hear Iku's story, and she'll offer to take you to a place involving the Flame Champion. At this point, Iku joins you as a guest in your party. When you start to leave town, you'll see Mantor Legionnaires leaving on the giant insects. Now, you can visit the Tutor and Training hut, which was previously inaccessible. When you're ready, leave the village.
The seemingly straightforward way north into the mountain is full of crisscrossing paths, but you should be able to find your way through easily. Watch it in here; the enemies can give you a tough time. Make sure you save as well. When you reach the center of the mountain, you'll find Duke and his mercenary team waiting for you. You have a choice here. If you select the bottom option, you'll just speak with Duke, but if you select the top option, you'll battle Duke and his unit. Boss Battle: Duke, Elaine, Gau, Nicholas Have Aila cast Clay Guardian immediately at the beginning of the fight. Using Geddoe's Lightning Rune to hit multiple members of the Fourteenth Unit proves extremely helpful. Elaine and Gau are both fast and agile, while Duke is more balanced. Nicholas, on the other hand, while slow, is virtually immune to physical attacks. Use magical strikes to take him out. Cast Great Blessing if the party's HP is low, but this fight isn't that hard.
If you fight Duke's group and win, your group progresses into the altar of Mt. Senai to find the Masked Bishop and Sarah. Watch the conversation, and then your team will battle with the bishop and his feminine comrade. Boss Battle: Masked Bishop, Sarah Alone, either of these two are formidable, but together, they're unstoppable. The Masked Bishop usually starts the fight with a spell that often wipes out half your team. Sarah will usually finish the battle with another offensive spell.
After the battle with the Masked Bishop, make sure you heal everyone immediately. You'll find that the Bishop, Sarah, and Duke's crew are all gone, so leave Mt. Senai as well and head for Caleria. If you re-enter the altar, you'll find a mini boss on the bridge, but for now, since most of your magic is probably drained, leave and come back for it later.
When you reach the crossroad, your group has a meeting. No one is sure how all of the recent events fit together, but the group notices that everything seems to revolve around the Flame Champion. Geddoe has a flashback, and the chapter ends. |
