Hugo Chapter 2
At Sgt. Joe's suggestion, Hugo, Sgt. Joe, and Fubar head for Duck Village. Upon their entry, two ducks, Wilder and Rhett, run towards you, exclaiming that they need Sgt. Joe and that "we can't please her". Go to the center of town to see a woman (Lilly) demanding angrily that the ducks give her certain information that she's looking for. Upon spotting Hugo, she seems relieved to see another human. Before she can question Hugo, two men come bustling out of the Inn. Follow Lilly into the Inn. She'll introduce herself and her two attendants, Samus and Reed. Lilly is the chosen leader of Tinto, and she'll explain that she's looking for the Fire Bringer and the Flame Champion. After some negotiating, Hugo, Sgt. Joe, and Fubar agree to take Lilly, Samus, and Reed to the Great Hollow for 2000 potch now, and another 2000 once you get there. Once the dialogue ends, Lilly, Samus, and Reed join your party. Upgrade them and buy some items, and then leave Duck Village.
The Ancient Highway is easy to get to. After some searching, Lilly discovers the entrance to the underground passage. The monsters down here can be tough, so he careful. The Ancient Highway is straightforward, but when you get to the center, you see a strange sight: A masked man, a man in a white coat, a man in black, and a woman talking together in front of an enormous door, apparently trying to break some sort of seal. Your group eavesdrops on them, and Lilly instantly assumes them as evil. Hugo can decide whether to confront them or not. If you want to avoid them, select "They don't look like allies", then "Hmm...what's the best way", and then "I agree". If you confront them, watch the dialogue, and then the man in the white coat will recognize Lilly. Three of the four mysterious people leave, but the fourth (the man in black) stays to "add an element of style to his exit". Boss Battle: Man in black Before you even start planning a strategy, I'm going to say this quite simply: Unless you've done way too much leveling, it is not possible to win this fight. This opponent's attacks can kill your characters outright, he's got impressive defense, and your attacks don't even hit him half the time. This is a no-win scenario, and it doesn't matter if you lose.
When the man in black is about to kill Hugo, the timely intervention of the woman saves him, urging the man in black to hurry up. So, he leaves, with one last sinister glance at Hugo. It's likely that once you regain control of your party, you're all weak from the battle, so consume some items. Now, continue through the Ancient Highway.
Upon leaving the Highway, you hear a battle in progress. Sure enough, you look down at the entrance to Great Hollow and see Zexens battling the Lizard Clan. When you decide to help the Lizard Clan, you'll need to kill two groups of Zexens. Afterwards, you'll see some dialogue between Chris and Lucia, and then the Zexens will retreat. When you regain control of Hugo, go inside Great Hollow and speak with Luce and Lucia, delivering the bad news about Lulu. Afterwards, Lucia will spend some time with Hugo talking about the recent events. Sgt. Joe will run up to you, saying that Lilly, Samus, and Reed have wandered off. Before going to find them, go to the Inn and talk to Anne. She'll offer to change your party members. Add Fubar, and then go to the Lizard Chief's personal chamber entrance to find Lilly inquiring Chief Dupa about the Fire Bringer. Dupa gives you a more detailed story about the Flame Champion. Now, follow Lilly down to the first level of Great Hollow, and Sgt. Joe will impatiently ask that Lilly hands over the 2000 potch she owes. Since she is broke, she decides to stay with Hugo and the Grasslanders until she can find a Tinto trader. With your new allies, go outside and move toward the edge of Great Hollow, where Jimba will meet you again. He'll ask to be taken to Lucia, and then Lucia and Jimba will fill you in on some information about the Fire Bringer. Jimba will also ask you to investigate rumors of the Fire Bringer hiding at Budehuc Castle. Since the Fire Bringer may be hiding there, Lilly, of course, wants to come as well. Leave Great Hollow and the chapter will end. In addition, Thomas' chapters open up. |
