Thomas Chapter 1

Location
Budehuc Castle

This chapter opens with a scene at the castle gate. Thomas meets Cecile, the captain of the guards. She'll escort you up to the castle, where you'll meet Sebastian. Sebastian shows you to your room in the castle. Have a quick rest. When you wake up, Sebastian suggests that you introduce yourself to the people at the castle. You must talk to Eike in the library, Muto in the cellar, Cecile at the castle gate, Martha at the lottery stand, Piccolo at the fortune teller's tent, and Juan at the Bujitsu training center. They will all fill you in on some of the history of Budehuc. When you're done, go back to the castle entrance hall and speak to Sebastian. He'll tell you that he has a letter for you to deliver to Zexen. Cecile accompanies you as a guard. Since you don't have much money to buy anything, leave Budehuc for Brass Castle.

Location
Yaza Plains

Since Thomas is level 1 and Cecile is level 2, the enemies here are going to be weak. You should get a few levels for both Thomas and Cecile. Simply go through and to the right to get to Brass Castle.

Location
Brass Castle

There's nothing you can do here right now but deliver the letter. Head toward the castle itself to trigger a cutscene with Leo. When you enter, you can also talk to Roland, who is standing in a corner. Head through the open area and up the stairs. Then, go through the double doors and give the letter to the kindly Salome. Watch the dialogue, and then it's time to head back.

Location
Yaza Plains

Nothing happening here, just go back the same way you came.

Location
Budehuc Castle

When you return, tell Cecile that you are tired, and turn in for the night. The next morning, go to the front door to find Sebastian. He'll tell you that a boy who visits the castle has gone missing. Thomas offers to help, and Cecile and Piccolo also join you. You must search the library, the broken elevator, and the shipwreck in the first cellar level. Still, you can't find the boy. Speak to Juan at the Bujitsu training center, and he'll say that he believes the boy is at Mt. Hei-Tou. Put Juan in front of Piccolo now, and head out for the mountain.

Location
Yaza Plains

Same as before, but go left this time to get to where you want to go.

Location
Mt. Hei-Tou

There are some items to be found here if this is your first time at Mt. Hei-Tou (which it probably is). Keep going straight, and you'll see the boy...and he's being attacked by a wild boar. You should know what's coming next.

Boss Battle: Wild Boar

If Juan is at the front of your party and gets waken up by an attack from the boar, he'll be a lifesaver. Use Thomas and Cecile's Best Effort combo attack; it works beautifully. Have Piccolo use the scrolls in his inventory to attack the boar with magic, and keep your health up. The boar can cause you some pain, but as long as you keep healing, you should be perfectly fine.

Location
Mt. Hei-Tou (continued) and Yaza Plains

Watch the conversation between your party and the boy, and then take him back to Budehuc through the Yaza Plains.

Location
Budehuc Castle

Watch the dialogue between the boy as he is reunited with his mother, and then take a rest again. The next morning, go to the entrance hall to see Sebastian. He'll inform you of the castle's poor financial situation, and Thomas will call a meeting. During the meeting, Martha will tell you that Budehuc Castle is on land shared by Grassland and Zexen, and that the proof is a deed in the office upstairs. Everyone searches for it, and, when Thomas finds it, Martha proves to be correct. So, Thomas decides to lease land on the castle for people to set up shop.

Interlude
Star Recruitment

This part of the chapter is meant solely for recruiting stars. I'm not going to show you where to find each star; that's what the 108 stars page is for. I will, however, tell you that at this point you can recruit the following people: Mio, Mel, Kouroku, Peggi, Twaikin, Jeane, Ernie, Arthur, Kathy, Kidd, Belle, Gadget Z, Kenji, Goro, Augustine, Dominic, Nei, Toppo, Shabon, Scott, and Gordon. Good luck!

Location
Budehuc Castle (continued)

After you've recruited some people and you're ready to move on, head to your room and go to sleep. The next morning, Cecile bursts into your room, remembering that no one has seen Eike in weeks, and you need to find him. Try to leave town, and a woman will enter, who identifies herself as Shizu, a mechanic. Show her to the elevator and she'll get to fixing it. It will take another night, so go back to sleep again. The next morning, approach the elevator to find the group eager to test it out. Shizu will also join the 108 stars. While using the elevator, the group accidentally uncovers a third basement level that nobody knew about.

Location
Budehuc Castle: Forgotten Basement

No one has been in here before, and it's suggested that Eike may be down here. So, search for him. When the cavern splits, Juan and Piccolo take the left path, while Thomas and Cecile take the right. Travel along the right path, and when it branches to the left, that's where you want to go. You'll meet up with Piccolo and Juan again. Apparently, the two caverns lead into one major cavern. Follow it until you find, at the end of the cavern, Eike! After a discussion, the chapter will end.
