Common Buildings
These buildings are common to all cities, and all of them are very important. Common buildings have no image listing.

Village Hall | N/A | N/A | Produces 500 Gold per day. Allows you to build other buildings. |
Town Hall | 2500 Gold | Village Hall, Tavern | Produces 1000 Gold per day. |
City Hall | 5000 Gold | Town Hall, Blacksmith, Marketplace, Mage Guild Level 1 | Produces 2000 Gold per day. |
Capitol | 10000 Gold | City Hall, Castle | Produces 4000 Gold per day. Can only build if another city in your possession does not have one. |
Fort | 5000 Gold, 20 Wood, 20 Ore | Village Hall | Adds walls to a town. |
Citadel | 2500 Gold, 5 Ore | Fort | Adds a moat and a central arrow tower. Increases creature production by 50%. |
Castle | 5000 Gold, 10 Wood, 10 Ore | Citadel | Adds two additional arrow towers at half strength of the central tower, and walls are strengthened. Increases creature production by 100%. |
Mage Guild Level 1 | 2000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore | Village Hall | Five level 1 spells are available for heroes to learn if they have a spellbook. Allows spellbooks to be bought for 500 Gold.
Heroes automatically learn any spells they don't know when they visit a city with a Mage Guild. |
Mage Guild Level 2 | 1000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 4 Crystal, 4 Gems, 4 Mercury, 4 Sulfur | Mage Guild Level 1 | Four level 2 spells are made available. |
Mage Guild Level 3 | 1000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 6 Crystal, 6 Gems, 6 Mercury, 6 Sulfur | Mage Guild Level 2 | Three level 3 spells are made available.
This is the highest level Mage Guild that can be built in Fortress and Strongholds. |
Mage Guild Level 4 | 1000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 8 Crystal, 8 Gems, 8 Mercury, 8 Sulfur | Mage Guild Level 3 | Two level 4 spells are made available.
This is the highest level Mage Guild that can be built in Castles. |
Mage Guild Level 5 | 1000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 10 Crystal, 10 Gems, 10 Mercury, 10 Sulfur | Mage Guild Level 4 | One level 5 spell are made available. |
Marketplace | 500 Gold, 5 Wood | Village Hall | Allows resources to be traded and allows you to trade resources with other players.
The more marketplaces you control, the better the exchange rate is. |
Tavern | 500 Gold, 5 Wood | Village Hall | Allows you to recruit heroes, hear rumors and visit the Thieves Guild to compare standings. |
Grail Structure | The Holy Grail | Village Hall | Produces 5000 Gold per day, and raises creature production for the city by 50%. Also has a unique bonus based on the city it is built.
A Grail structure can only be built by having the hero who possesses the Holy Grail visit the city you wish to build the structure in and then visitng the Village/Town/City Hall or Capitol. It's often wise to choose the city carefully, as once built it cannot be removed.
