Rampart Creatures
Rampart units are pretty powerful and cheap: It' seems the"good" guys (Castle, Rampart, and Tower) have a stranglehold on the nice units. While the Rampart has only one ranged unit (and it's damn good), a lot of the creatures have a bilities that hamper your oppnent's effectiveness. They are pretty easy on the wallet for their strength..
Weiila sez: These are the stuff that fairytales are made of, you could have gotten your entire collection of creatures from Xena and Lord of the Rings in this place. But don't be fooled by the sparkles flying around, even these prettyboys have something to say in battle!

Centaur | 70 Gold | | 5 | 3 | Swift | N/A | | | 2-3 | 8 | 6 | Grounde | No special abilities. |
Centaur Captain | 90 Gold | 6 | 3 | Very Swift | N/A | | | 2-3 | 10 | 8 | Ground | No special abilities.. | Expensive, but arguably the best 1st level units once upgraded. They're very durable, pretty fast, and deal out nice damage. It's worth having a few.
|
Dwarf | 120 Gold | | 6 | 7 | Very Slow | N/A | | | 2-4 | 20 | 3 | Ground | 20% chance to resist enemy spells. |
Battle Dwarf | 150 Gold | 7 | 7 | Slow | N/A | | | 2-4 | 20 | 5 | Ground | 40% chance to resist enemy spells. | Dwarves are cool, but they're best upgraded. The extra spell resistance is nice, and the speed boost is appreciated. But if you really want to get something out of them, you had better know haste, or they'll be too slow to do much good. |
Wood Elf | 200 Gold | | 9 | 5 | Swift | 24 | | | 3-5 | 15 | 6 | Ground | No special abilities. |
Grand Elf | 225 Gold | 9 | 5 | Extra Swift | 24 | | | 3-5 | 15 | 7 | Ground | Double Shot (Fires twice a turn at the same target). | Arguably the best low level ranged unit, Elves are a worthy addition to your army. The upgrade seems pitiful (Just a point in speed... yay), but the second shot is nice. They'll be eating through ammo though, so make sure you have a Ammo Cart. It's also not advised you let them ANYWHERE near the front lines. |
Pegasus | 250 Gold | | 9 | 8 | Very Swift | N/A | | | 5-9 | 30 | 8 | Flyinge | Raises enemy spell costs by 2. |
Silver Pegasus | 275 Gold | 9 | 10 | Extra Quick | N/A | | | 5-9 | 30 | 12 | Flying | Raises enemy spell costs by 2. | Pegasi are nice. I don't put much stock in their special abilities unless it's a long battle with a magic whore or something, but they're very fast, very nice skirmishers. They're a bit faster and durable as Silver Pegasi, so get those if possible.
Weiila sez: My little pony, my little. eh, nothing. And you stop flirting with the elves, rider lady! |
Dendriod Guard | 350 Gold | | 9 | 12 | Very Slow | N/A | | | 10-14 | 55 | 3 | Ground | Prevents an enemy from moving on a melee attack until the Dendroid moves or dies. |
Dendroid Soldier | 425 Gold | 9 | 12 | Extra Slow | N/A | | | 10-14 | 65 | 4 | Ground | Prevents an enemy from moving on a melee attack until the Dendroid moves or dies. | Another nice tank, they can effectively pull a unit out of the battle, and are durable enough to keep a few units out of the fray. But if you know what's good for you, you'll Haste them as soon as possible.
Weiila sez: Another sort of guys that look stronger than they are. But as usual, it’s numbers that count. |
Unicorn | 850 Gold | | 15 | 14 | Extra Swift | N/A | | | 18-22 | 90 | 7 | Ground | 20% chance to blind on a melee attack, grants adjacent friendly units 20% spell resistance. |
War Unicorn | 950 Gold | 15 | 14 | Ultra Swift | N/A | | | 18-22 | 110 | 9 | Ground | 20% chance to blind on a melee attack, grants adjacent friendly units 20% spell resistance. | Unicorns are sweeeeeet. They're very durable (especially War Unicorns), and the blinding and resistance auras are VERY nice. Besides, they look COOL.
Weiila sez: Oh yeah, these guys rock. And they are the guys that change their looks the most in the upgrade, apart from the genies of course. |
Green Dragon | 2400 Gold + 1 Crystal | | 18 | 18 | Super Swift | N/A | | | 40-50 | 180 | 10 | Flying | Immune to spells below Level 4, Breath weapon. |
Gold Dragon | 4000 Gold + 1 Crystal | 27 | 27 | Fast | N/A | | | 40-50 | 250 | 16 | Flying | Immune to spells below Level 5, Breath weapon. | Green Dragons are the weakest of all the dragons, but Golds are quite strong. They have more attack and defensive power than Black Dragons, but they don’t have as strong spell resistance, or as many hit points. I'd go with Black Dragons, but it's your call. Of course, you should watch where your dragons attack, lest you roast your own units.
Weiila sez: As I said about the red and black dragons:
And use that two hexes hit against the enemy. The best tactic you can use the dragons for is to attack a stronger unit by breathing through a weaker one. If the weaker one then attacks the dragon without moving, there’ll be another hit on both. Mwahaha…
