The Evil Campaign: Steadwick’s Fall by BahamutXero

Campaign description:
Erathian history has never recorded the fall of Steadwick to her enemies. Today, we start a glorious campaign to forever change this fact. No longer will we allow Erathia to hamper our religious and economic ways of life. We have the element of surprise. We’ll soon have victory as well!

Scenario description:
To win, you must capture the city of Steadwick within three months.

Situation:
You have managed to surround the area around the Erathian capital of Steadwick. Your forces are trying to keep Queen Catherine from returning but they can’t keep her away forever. You must take the capital before she returns.

Parameters:
Difficulty: Easy
Allies: Tan
Enemies: Red

Bonus choices:
Start with Heroes from A Devilish Plan
Start with Heroes from Groundbreaking

Starting resources
30 wood, 15 mercury, 30 ore, 15 sulfur, 15 crystal, 15 gems, 30000 gold.

Town restraints:
No town in this scenario can build shipyards; the scenario takes place completely on land anyway. All the Castle towns and the Rampart town in this scenario can only build their first four creature dwellings.

Guide:
Okay, here we are, the home stretch. I strongly encourage you to choose the Heroes from Groundbreaking because they should all be level 12. Whichever Heroes you decide to use will be placed around your three starting towns. As mentioned above the Castle town you start with can’t build fifth or sixth level creature dwellings so I suggest using it as a money generator and concentrate your recourses on the Dungeon and Inferno towns.

Unlike Groundbreaking, you can’t spend your sweet time claiming everything in sight. Three months may seem like a lot of time but it really isn’t if you don’t move and build as much as you can. In the first week I suggest gathering what starting forces you have, giving them to your best Heroes, and taking all your mines and resource piles around your starting towns. Have your idle Heroes move every turn too, they can help reveal a lot of map. Your Hero’s magic (Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Ice Bolt, Meteor Shower, etc.) alone should be able to take out low-level creature stacks in one shot so it will be much more vital than a strong army at first. After getting a week’s or two worth of Dungeon creatures make sure you take the Dragon Cave south of that castle underground. It’s guarded with a wandering group of Black Dragons plus the Dragons guarding the Cave itself. You may have casualties but the Dragons you get from it will be a great help in this scenario because there is only one Dungeon town. When you have a sizable army, I’d say maybe a couple of Black Dragons and the rest of your army, (In case you haven’t noticed I built up my Dungeon town more than my Inferno town, but I just like dragons better than devils. I mean where do you think my name came from J) you should move west above ground. West of your Inferno castle there is an enemy Castle that should fall relatively easy to your Black Dragons.

Now that your main Heroes are farther away from their original towns, use your remaining Heroes as a shuttle service, sending weekly creatures to the warfront. I had two main armies, my main Dungeon one, and a weaker but still competent Inferno army that had about 20 Efreet Sultans as well the rest of that army that cleared the way for my main army. As you move westward remember to still visit skill-boosting locations, as they will help in laying siege to Steadwick. An enemy Hero or two may try to get their Castle back but they aren’t that hard. If you have your main army stationed there you will have no problem defending against their siege effort. Just for your information or if you really need the money, there is a Rampart town north of your starting Inferno town, and Castles northwest and south of Steadwick.

North and west of the Castle town are enemy garrisons that are strongly armed. I suggest waiting another week or two for more reinforcements before going for them. I suggest that you go through the western one because you would have to go through two garrisons if you took the northern route. Just beyond the western garrison is your goal-Steadwick. Guarding his capital is General Kendal, a very powerful Knight. Before going through the garrison make sure you have at least 10 Black Dragons or a similar amount of Arch Devils. Capture this Castle and this campaign comes to an end.
