Inside the cruiser, Mario and Mr. Green Mario Brother will need to head up to the deck to meet Bowser. Go right to the next screen, talking to everyone to get some fundamental knowledge of the game. When you come to an area with two boxes with arrows on them, stand under it going left to right and alternate between A and B to make Mario and Luigi tag team the box. Continue south and right to the next screen

In this room, you'll get your pictures taken for your passport if you try and go north. When you follow orders and stand on the little square with feet on it, the Koopa will take your picture. If you wait until the last second and press a button, you'll make a funny face. After you have your photos, continue through and hit the two item boxes for 2 Mushrooms. Also, if you told the Koopa "Thatta way" back in Mushroom Kingdom, talk to him and he'll give you a 1-Up Mushroom. Go up the stairs to the next screen. Follow the only path and push the barrel out of the way. The Koopa here will scold you for breaking Bowsers stuff. He'll offer to teach you how to fight as a team. If this is your first time playing, it'd be wise to take the time out and go through the tutorial. When you're done, continue south and break the barrel to fight some Goombas. If you played the tutorial fight, you'll probably gain a level right about now. After you level, a spinning wheel comes up and you can select a stat. Choose the stat and stop the wheel to get a random bonus from 1 to 3. It's your choice as to what to put your bonuses into

Continue left and help the Koopa dispose of the Goombas running around and head up the stairs. Go left and hit the block with the ! on it. While Luigi is doing some impromptu looking outting, he spots the two villains who attacked Princess Peach. They introduce themselves and Cackletta leaves you to battle Fawful.

When he says "Fink Rat", watch the color the lettering is. If it's red, the attack is coming to Mario. If it's green, it's coming to Luigi. When he says "Have you readiness for this?" watch the color. Whichever it is will be attacked first, but the other brother will be attacked right after. Just keep jumping on him and he'll fall to the ground. Here, he charges you, so try to counter attack and he'll go quickly

The ship will go down, sending Mario and Luigi far away
