Mining
You'll see a cave just north of the Hot Springs. This is the Spring
Mine, one of the two mines found in the game. Now what's the purpose of
this mine? Well, the ores that you need to upgrade your tools are found
here. To find these ores, you'll need two tools: the Hammer and the
Hoe. The Hammer is used to smash the rocks found in the mine, which
will sometimes reveal an item. The Hoe is there to dig down to the next
level. To do so, just use the Hoe on plain dirt. There's no one single
space on every floor that will reveal the staircase leading below.
Actually, everything you dig, there's a chance that each space will be
the staircase. So keep on digging until you find the path to the next
level.
There are 255 levels in each mine, which means you'll need a lot of
things to keep your stamina up. Check out the Tips and Secrets section
for some methods. What's the purpose of going down further and further?
Well, the lower you go, the better the items you could dig up.
Spring Mine
The Spring Mine is accessible at all times. Just simply enter the cave north of the Hot Springs. Inside this mine are all the ores needed for upgrades, a power berry, the 9 Goddess Jewels, and more. Also, you'll need to have an empty Tool Slot to find the Teleport Stone.

Lake Mine
The Lake Mine can only be accessed during the winter. It is located in the center of the lake, which freezes over in the winter. If you have the Teleport Stone, you can visit this mine during any season. Inside are numerous sellable gems, the cursed tools, and the Jewels of Kappa.
