Armor
Armor is very important for characters who wish to survive long enough to do anything. You start the game with no armor at all (any time you have an empty armor slot you revert to the vault suit, which can be usful). Armors are fairly varied, and all of them increase your AC (armor class). This is not the only thing to consider, as each armor has threshold values, and percentage reductions for each damage type. These resistances can also be boosted by combat implants and perks.
Note: Here as well as in the game, the resistances of an armor are expressed as "number/percentage". The first number is the threshold, for example, Advanced Power Armor MKII has a normal threshold damage of 18, meaning that a bullet that would deal less than 18 damage to an unarmored player, will deal no damage at all. The second number is the percentage reduction. Again, using Advanced Power Armor MKII, a bullet dealing 100 damage would only deal 40% of that damage, so 40 points.
