Descendants

Campaign information for the Descendants Campaign.

Scenario 1: "Conquer and Unify"
"Conquer and unite all the enemy tribes. Don't lose the hero Jarkonas, the forefather of all descendants."

Before you begin, you have the choice to begin with either 1000 additional gold, 50 additional wood, or 10 additional crystal. The starting hero is a Barbarian. This is a very small map, with enemies located in every corner that you are not in. Gather all the local resources and build up until you have at least 10 war trolls. This will make things very easy for you if you don't take too long. Don't spend too much time gather excess resources after you leave your corner, just head straight to another corner. Defeat all enemy castles and geroes to win. Jarkonas must survive.

Scenario 2: "Border Towns"
"You rival, the kingdom of Harondale, is attacking weak towns on you border! Recover from their first strike and crush them completely."

Starting choices include Attack skill +1, Defense Skill +1, and 1000 additional gold. The starting hero is a warlock with a castle and three additional, different towns. Fortify only the sorceress town, it's the only one that has a chance, because heroes will attack it after your first turn. You can always restart the scenario if you don't like you initial outcome, it after all, only the first turn. Built up a half-way decent army with the resources from the surrounding mines and go take back the towns whenever you're ready. The enemies' castles are in the northern regions, but watch out as they will get to the unclaimed town in the south first. Not a very hard scenario, computer was more dimwitted than usual on this one for some reason.

You must now choose between either Scenario 3 or 4

Scenario 3: "The Wayward Son"

Scenario 4: "Crazy Unle Ivan"

"Find your wayward son Joseph who is rumored to be living in the desolate lands. Do it before the first day of the third month or it will be of no help to you family."

Before start, you have a choice to begin with etiher Basic Logistics(skill), Stellskin(spell), or Mage's Ring (artifact). When playing, keep in mind that you have a 2 months time limit. Ste Scenario begins in the southwest corner of the map, where there are three decastled heroes. Continue west until the paninsula ends and then due north to a shabby town. Build up two of your heroes' armies to decent size and then go though the portal to the west. There are only two ships, unless you want to take on the haunted ship, so have one hero travel, by ship, north and take command of the light house, while the other sails to the far southwest corner and lands. There are four towns here that you can recruit from. Lower lever Warlock creatures to the southwest, Mid-level Warlock creatures just past that. Arch-Magi to the east, which is near the tent that tells you the passward to the gate, and Red Dragons to the north. There are also several places to hire Medusa to the east, Nomads to the northwest, and Earth Elemental to the north. The town you are looking for is to the north east, so it is not necesarry to go past the gate, but it is a big boost to your armies for cheap, if you have about 2 to 3 weeks to spare. Capture the town that has Joseph to win. Victory gives you the Wayward Son award.
"Rescue your crazy uncle Ivan. Find him before the first day of the fourth month or it will be of no help to you kingdom."

You will have the choice to begin with either Basic Logistics(skill), Basic Scouting(skill), or Power Axe(artifact). The map begins in the far southwest corner. If you go southwest into the actual corner, you will find an artifact. Follow the road and take over the town you come upon (Warlock). After you collect the local resources and get a decent army, for the random creatures, not the opponent, because there is none. Ivan is in the north west of the map. Despite the lack of enemy, the monsters in the area are difficult and many, so be sure that you always have at least 20 of all you creatures.Find Ivan to Claim victory. Victory gives you the Uncle Ivan award.

Scenario 5: "The Southern War"
"Destroy the barbarians who are attacking the southern border of your kingdom! Recover your fallen towns, and then invade the jungle Kingdom. Leave no enemy standing."

Starting choices include Basic Luck (skill), Basic Leadership (skill), and Spiked Shield (artifact). The starting Wizard is loaded, as far as creatures go, with Magi, a Giant, Rocs, and halflings. There is a enemy castle just to the west, take it over immediately. The easiest way to complete this map to make a second hero to head south with the second castles forces, so there's no mixing of loyalties and thus lowered morale, and the initial hero heading west. There is another castle south and slightly west of your new castle. Be cautious, though, as they have far more powerful forces, hero wise, than you. There are also castles to the west and south west. Defeat all castles and heroes to claim victory.

You must now choose between either Scenario 6 or 7

Scenario 6: "Ivory Gates"

Scenario 7. "The Elven Lands"

"Retake the castle of Ivory Gates, which has falen due to treachery."

Before start, the options are to begin with 1000 less gold, 10 less wood, or 2 less Mercury. The inital castle is a semi-developed sorceress in the southeast corner of the map with loads of resources and few artifacts, all guarded by several monsters. There is an unclaimed castle directly to the west, focus your initial movements to capturing it. Make sure to leave at least a few creatures in your castle, or more heroes, as a barbarian enemy will eventually attack from the north.
"Gain the favor of the elves. They will not allow trees to be chopped down, so we will send you wood every two weeks. You must complete your mission before the first day of the seventh month, or the Kingdom will surely fall."

Beginning choices include 1000 additional gold, Basic Scouting (skill), or 20 wood. Keep in mind that you will not be able to get wood on you own. There is a six month time limit on this scenario. The quest fomr the elves is to recover the Golden Bow for them, which has been stolen by the dragons. There are very few resources on this map, so you castle will not be able to be upgraded very easily. There are no opponents on this map, so feel free to travel without reserves at castles.

Scenario 8: "The Epic Battle"
"This is the final battle against your rival Kingdom of Harondale. Eliminate everyone, and don't lose the hero Jarkonas VI."

Starting choices include Basic Leadership (skill), Basic Archery (skill), and Increasing Spell Power by 1. The starting heroes are a sorceress and a wizard (Jarkonas VI), each with decent creatures to start. There are two castles (a sorceress and barbarian) and a Nercomancer town. The surrounding areas are rich with resources, so be sure to gather those up, this map is perfect for strong castle building. There are several wild creatures that must be battled to open up the map to your heroes. Move you heroes up and down the map to find the weakest wild creature to defeat, opening the paths to the east. There's a big swamp in the middle of the map, so be prepared to spend a long time crossing it unless you manage to get expert pathfinder. The main stragetgies for this map are to go all offense or all defense. If you tend to go slower, I suggest going all defense. Build up a massive army through 2 to 3 characters and clean house with them whenever you're ready. If you're a fast player, get acroos the map as quick a possible. The enemy castles will be lightly guarded, as they are mostly all offenive. Defeat all castles and heroes to claim victory.

Congratulations! You've completed your Campaign!
