Monsters
There are several different types of monsters you'll encounter in
Quest for Glory, and all of them would be more than happy to make a
snack out of you if you aren't prepared when you meet them. Wolfgang Abenteuer, the guild master
in Spielburg, can tell you a bit about these guys.

Brigand
3
A grunt with a spear and shield. Their
band has been terrorizing the valley, and they don't want a Hero
interfering.
5-24 silver
Cheetaur
7
Half man, half panther. Watch out for
those teeth.
1-10 Cheetaur Claws
Goblin
2
Easy when they're alone, but in their camp
they'll attack you in groups.
0-35 silver
Kobold Magic
User
6
The only monster on this list who doesn't
bring you into the combat screen (EGA version) when fighting. The
controls are the same, though. And beware--he's immune to magic.
Large Brass Key
Mantray
5
A flying stingray--don't ask how that works.

Ogre
5
The guard of the Kobold's cave is very
difficult early in the game. Build up your skills before
attempting to cut him down.

1 gold, 43 silver
Saurus
1
The easiest monster to kill, but don't
underestimate them when you're first starting out.

Saurus Rex
8
A saurus on steroids. They can easily
outrun the Hero, and don't have anything worth taking. I tend to
avoid them for economic reasons.
None

Toro
10
The minotaur guard is tough, even for a
fighter with maxed stats. Fortunately there are ways to kill him
without entering combat.
50 silver
Troll
9
Trolls only come out at night. They're
tough fighters, but the payoff is
well worth the battle.
20-49 silver, 1 Troll Beard
