Altars

The Dungeon Altars & the 3 Parts Key are very important in completing the game, especially the 3 Parts Key.  You MUST have it at the end of the game in order to beat it.  I can't tell you how many times I played through the entire game, gotten all the stones, reached Avatarhood, gone to the end of the game and realized I forgot to pick them up (nyahhhhhh!!!!!).  So, I had to backtrack through the caves to get the damned things... anyway.  Each part of the 3 Parts Key is obtained from 1 of the 3 Dungeon Altars (3 altars, 3 keys... huh, go figure).

Altars are located on the 8th floor of each dungeon.  Each dungeon is connected to specific altars that are relative to the principles that comprise that virtue & interconnect to the other relative virtuous dungeons.  Meaning, that the Dungeon of Compassion (Despise) is connected to the Altar of Love, and that the Altar of Love is also connected to the Dungeons of Justice (Wrong), Sacrifice (Covetous) & Spirituality (Hythloth).

When you reach one of the Altars, you must place the 4 stones that comprise of the Principles of Truth, Love or Courage on the center marking in the middle of the altar..  Once done, you will receive one of the corresponding keys from that altar.
