Glossary:

Faction: the town type required to purchase these creatures, neutral creatures however come from dwellings on the map instead or in some cases cannot be recruited at all.
N/A = Not applicable, they have nothing.
HP: Hit Points, how many HP any individual unit has before it dies.
Speed:
-Slow: Creature only moves 1 hex per turn in battle and is tied for last for initiative (seeing who moves first).
-Medium: Creature moves 2 hexes per turn in battle and is in the middle for initiative checks.
-Fast: Creature moves 3 hexes per turn in battle and is tied for first for initiative.
Attack: Gives a 10% damage bonus for each point of attack there is above the enemy's defense.
Defense: Gives a 5% damage reduction bonus for each point over the enemy's attack.
Damage: How much damage each individual unit in a stack will do before modifiers.
Shots: How many times a ranged unit can fire before exhausting its supply of ranged attacks. If a creature is N/A, it does not shoot and has to get next to an enemy to attack it.
Cost: How much gold and other resources must be paid to recruit this unit.
Special: Special abilities the unit posesses, such as:
-Attacks 2x: This creature attacks twice when it attacks other, does not apply to counter-attacks.
-No Retaliate: When this creature attacks, the creature it hits cannot counter attack.
-Absorbs Dead: When enemies are killed by this creature, this creature gets new members equal to the number killed.
-Flying: Allows the creature to move anywhere on the map unobstructed and in one turn.
-Halves: Chance on hit to kill exactly half of the enemies in a stack.
-Regeneration: Recovers all of the lost hit point up to the max for the top unit in the stack.
-25% Magic Resist: Prevents 25% of any damage done to the creatures by spells.
-2 Hex Attack: Attacks go through the first hex when hitting a unit and hit whatever unit may be occupying the next as well. Can hit multiple units this way (even your own).
-Paralyze/Blind: 20% chance on hitting a unit to stun it for a few rounds, preventing it from doing anything.
-Unlimited Retaliate: Will counter-attack every time it is hit with a melee attack that can be retaliated against.
-Circumfrance Attack: Will attack every enemy unit around it, and without retaliation to boot.
-Magic Immunity: Cannot be effected by any spells at all.
Pop: How many units repopulate in the unit's dwelling per week before a bonus (like having a well) is applied. Neutral creatures are an estimate and Genies do not replenish at all.
