Status Abnormalities
|
Poison | When afflicted with poison, HP will decrease by 1 point each turn. When exploring, HP will decrease 1 point every 5 steps. Poison can be caused by a monster's "Poison Breath" attack such as that of a Gas Dragon or Poison Giant or certain enemy's special attack. This status does not wear off after battle. It must be cured using: 1.)Antidote Potion, 2.)Curing Potion, 3.)Poizkea Spell, 4.)Will Spell, or 5.)Going to the Temple. | |
---|---|---|
Paralysis | Paralysis prevents a character to act. They cannot fight, cast spells or use items. You will notice that a paralyzed character's turn will skip completely. While paralyzed, the damage that this person recieves will be doubled. This form of paralysis can be inflicted from a monster's normal attack, such as that of a Zombie or Greater Demon. This status does not wear off after battle. It must be cured using: 1.)Curing Potion, 2.)Parazkea Spell, 3.)Will Spell, or 4.)Going to the Temple. | |
Spell Paralysis | This form of paralysis is caused by an enemy's spell. Has the same effects as normal Paralysis, but this one will wear off over time. | |
Web Paralysis | This form of paralysis is caused by an enemy's special "Web" attack, such as that of Large Spider and Huge Spider. Has same effect as normal Paralysis. Will wear off over time. | |
Glare Paralysis | This form of paralysis is caused by an enemy's special "Glare" attack, such as that of Gaze Hound and Reaper. Has same effect as normal Paralysis. Will wear off over time. | |
Sleep | When a character is hit with the Sleep status, they will fall asleep. While asleep, they will be unable to act for several rounds (duh). This status will wear off over time, or when a sleeping character is attacked. | |
Seal | When a character is inflicted with the Seal status they are unable to cast spells. This can be cured using: 1.)AA Silence Breaker, or 2.)It will wear off after battle. | |
Unconscious | Sometimes a character can become unconscious. This can be caused from a monster hitting you (severly hard) such as a Greater Demon or Maelific, or certain spells that knock out the character after they cast it (such as the spell Nirvana). This has the same effect as the Sleep status and will wear off over time. | |
Fear | When a character is inflicted with Fear, he/she will attempt to flee the battle. They may also fail to act or cause an Allied Action to fail. Fear can be caused by a monster's special attack, such as the Reaper's and Bu'Shin's "Underworld Cry", or by having a Bishop in your party appraise an item and it is cursed. If the item's curse is too strong, it can inflict Fear on a character. This can be cured by going to the Temple. | |
Petrification | Petrification is when a character turns into stone. They are unable to act, and damage recieved with be greater. If a character dies while "Petrified", the character will turn into the Ash state. This status is caused by a monster's attack, such as that of a Stone Fly. This can be cured using: 1.)Curing Potion, 2.)Will Spell or 3.)Going to the Temple. | |
Death | Death is when a character loses all of his/her HP. While dead, they cannot act (obviously). Instant Death occurs when enemies, such as a Samurai, Ninja, Greater Demon, etc. lands a special hit that will instantly kill a character, regardless of his/her defense rating or HP amount (this is called an X Kill). When all party members are dead, the game is over. This can be cured using: 1.)Reviving Potion, 2.)Carcass Spell, 3.)Cathedral Spell or 4.)Going to the Temple. | |
Ash | When a reviving attempt fails, a character will turn into Ashes. They can be resurrected from their ashes, but if this fails.. a character will become lost. This can be cured using: 1.)Reviving Potion, 2.)Carcass Spell, 3.)Cathedral Spell or 4.)Going to the Temple. | |
Lost | Lost is when you fail at resurrecting one of your characters from their ashes. You will notice the character's marker fade out and shatter. You will be unable to use them again. If this happens to the main character, game over. There is no way to reverse this, other than resetting the game. | |
Possess | Possess is when one of your characters becomes
possessed by the Reaper that will randomly pop up in the Labyrinth
(except on levels B3, B7 and B9). When possessed, their marker
will glow red, and pulsate near a Reaper Door (you can see the door
when you have a possessed character in your party) and when a reaper is
near. Also, they no longer need to use a magical weapon to kill
undeads. If all characters become possessed something cool
happens.. you get a new list of AA's to use in battle (See Possess AA's
in the Allied Actions page). To cure this, go to the
Temple and pay to be purified. Additional Info ~ Found out something strange while playing the other day. It seems that after all your party members become possessed, it is possible for a character to become possessed more than once. Several things could happen including: 1st Possession - Character becomes possessed; marker glows pinkish-red. All characters possessed, screen glows pinkish-red. 2nd Possession - Character dies. Status becomes Possess/Dead. 3rd Possession - Character is turned to ash. Status becomes Possess/Ash 4th Possession - Character is lost, ..gone, ..poofed from the game. Self explainatory. |
|
*Note~When you kill the Reaper on B10, his possessing forms will disappear. If you haven't gotten the Reaper doors or experienced Possess AA's yet, then don't kill him yet. |
